Controversial interviews, marketing strategies and relationship rumors (or lack thereof) aside, Songz isn’t just all sex appeal. The Virginia native has the vocals to back up a cocky demeanor that went full-force at the self-proclaimed King of R&B (R.Kelly) this summer and now, many may have to respect it.

Maxwell : BLACKsummers' Night
Perhaps it was unwise to have a certain expectation before hearing Maxwell’s newest album, BLACKsummers’night, but it seems to come with the territory of an artist’s first new album in...eight...years. So I got into my car and cranked the stereo, hoping for his signature voice and futuristic beats to surge through my speakers and invade my subconscious, forcing my heart to pump just a little bit faster. With Chris Brown taking up a kickboxing career, there's sure to be a dry spell of quality R&B, and I welcomed Maxwell's return.
